25 years AIDS
In the summer of 1981 the American media began to report of a mysterious new disease among gay men. In 2006, 25 years later, there were worldwide approximately 40 million people infected with HIV. In our country there were nearly 20,000 HIV infections demonstrated, and there are another three infections per day on average. Following this sad anniversary, an exhibition was set up by a number of organizations to take a closer look at the past quarter-century fight against AIDS in Flanders.
